about

Greetings, fellow twenty-somethings!

I'm jackie -- a 24-year-old public relations professional, social media obsessor, wanna-be foodie, songbird, and of course, aspirer. I'm always pushing myself to the next big thing -- setting new goals, starting new passion projects and embarking on new personal journeys, because being stationary is just not an option for me. ;)

I graduated from the University of Iowa in 2010 (go, Hawks!) with a double major in journalism and mass communication // communication studies. Now, I'm a PR pro working with large consumer brands by day, and a blogger by night - and I wouldn't have it any other way. PR is a super fast-paced, exciting, media-driven industry that's made for the chronic aspirer like myself. As famous PR girl Kelly Cutrone put it in her must-read book, PR can be like "roaming a brutal wilderness, often fighting for survival," -- but with a little "conviction," you can make anything happen. For advice on a career in PR, check out my tips for breaking into PR, general tips for new grads or my own personal journey.

I created this blog in hopes that others may find the information I digest, life I experience and words I create entertaining and thought-provoking, and to carry other twenty-something's along on this crazy journey we call post-college life. Two years later, I'm still aspiring -- and blogging about everything from work-life balance to moving out on my own, to living healthy or checking off my bucket list.

A little about me: I love music. Singing is and always has been a huge part of my life. During high school, I released an original album, this is who i am. While I may have been no Billboard superstar, the experience was a huge personal journey for me, and the songs I wrote and music I created on that album is something I am still proud of to this day - although I was only 17! I love living healthy (although I have a weakness for anything covered in cheese), spending time outdoors and sharing a good bottle of wine with family or friends. For me, the only way to live life is without any regrets.

You can also catch me blogging about life in Chicago on RedEye 'Hoods as the New Kid on the Block.

I am open to anything, so feel free to e-mail me if you please
. I look forward to it!

Thanks for visiting!

Always,

jackie
